Media Room

Objective

To create a technologically advanced image for the USGS media room. The media room needed a complete update, but any structures had to be modular and somewhat mobile in the event that it had to be relocated. The room also had to use technology to improve the image of the USGS for visiting government officials and broadcasters alike.

Strategy & Execution

The space needed to function as a broadcast hub with relevant images and information on hand for media support and for credibility with visiting government officials. Stationary displays and a bank of monitors were installed to show real-time seismic activity throughout the planet. Plasma screens were installed to run a video loop highlighting USGS information. Soft lighting and sound dampening accommodate video recording during broadcast interviews.

Results

PG Exhibits successfully created a broadcast hub and showcase for governmental officials visits that improved their public image.
